Newcastle United are facing fresh delays over their move for FC Twente defender Douglas.
The Evening Chronicle says the 6ft 4in lynchpin's proposed move to the Premier League may now be put on hold.
The Brazilian-born star was granted Dutch citizenship last November after revealing ambitions to play for Holland.
But despite receiving a certificate from the mayor of Enschede confirming his status as an adopted Dutchman, strict FIFA rules mean that any players that have been granted a new nationality must live in the country they wish to represent for five years.
And it means that Douglas must wait until the end of August before he becomes eligible to play for Holland.
