Newcastle face battle to prise Douglas from FC Twente
Newcastle United face a battle to prise Douglas away from FC Twente.
The Evening Chronicle says Steve McClaren is digging his heels in to keep the 24-year-old in the Eredivisie, at the club where they won the title together in 2010.
McClaren – who tried to sign Douglas while at Wolfsburg – wants to keep the 6ft 4in defender and will continue to persuade him to stay.
