Newcastle United are again showing interest in Dutch striker Luuk de Jong.
The 23-year old was a target for the Magpies in the summer of 2012 when he had starred for FC Twente but he opted instead to sign with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach.
However, de Jong has struggled in Germany with the Foals prompting director Hans Meyer to suggest that he could be loaned out this winter.
"We will possibly loan Luuk at Christmas but definitely not to a competitor," he said.
"Our head coach Lucien Favre has said from the start he didn't have 100 per cent confidence in De Jong filling the striker position but I think we'll find a solution."
Reports suggest that Newcastle are again curious about de Jong and could make a move in January.
