Manchester City defender Kolo Toure is being linked with Newcastle United.
Newcastle will sign a centre-back next month - and it will be a permanent transfer rather than bringing someone in on loan as a temporary replacement for Steven Taylor.
Toure and Liam Ridgewell of Birmingham City are both being linked with the Toon.
