Newcastle United are eyeing Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford.
The Sunday Mirror says Magpies director of football Dennis Wise is a big admirer of the 24-year-old from his time as Elland Road manager.
Beckford has bagged 11 goals in just nine starts for Leeds this term and Everton and Wigan have also run the rule over him, as have Wolves and Crystal Palace.
Interested clubs are aware that Beckford now has less than two years left on his contract and that the Yorkshire club may have no option but to sell if they fail to persuade the London-born striker to sign a new deal.
