Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton is not expecting much activity in the January transfer window. The Magpies are on the look-out for reinforcements, particularly at the back, although Hughton is fairly happy with his squad.
On-loan striker Marlon Harewood's future remains uncertain and Hughton has confirmed he will do deals if the price is right.
"I do not envisage a busy January at all," explained Hughton. "If we can bring the right individuals into the squad, great.
"We have a tight squad and we are fortunate we do not have too many injuries at the moment.
"But I do not see a lot of movement next month and I hope to put any business to bed early as I want to avoid any transfer situations dragging on deep into January.
"We have to make a decision with regard to Marlon's future, just like we also have to make a decision with regard to the centre-half position."
