Newcastle United are keen on Juventus winger Eljero Elia.

The Daily Mail says Toon are trying to land Dutch winger Elia on loan just six months after missing out to Juventus for his signature.

Manager Alan Pardew, who has returned from a training camp in Tenerife, failed to persuade Elia to join Newcastle when he left Hamburg in the summer with Everton also interested.

However, the 24-year-old has failed in Italy and is keen to play regularly to regain a place in the Dutch national squad.
