Newcastle United will now focus their attention on QPR striker Loic Remy according to reports.
The Magpies were showing significant interest in Lyon's Bafetimbi Gomis but the Daily Mail believes that the they will now put all their energies into signing Remy on a season-long loan.
Newcastle made a bid of £8million for Gomis but Lyon are playing hard ball and Alan Pardew may just settle for Remy on the cheap following QPR's relegation to the Championship.
