Remi Garde has pulled out of talks with Newcastle United for the manager's job.
The former Olympique Lyon coach is available and open to returning to England after a spell in London with Arsenal.
But Garde wants to use this season to recharge his batteries before returning to football in the summer.
The Sun says Newcastle's move to make Garde their new boss is OFF.
Frenchman Garde was the top target for Toon owner Mike Ashley, and he met club officials to discuss taking over on Tyneside.
However, Newcastle are now switching their sights elsewhere, with Derby County manager Steve McClaren their new priority.
