Newcastle United are chasing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Evening Chronicle says reports in France say that Dortmund are ready to sell the former Ligue 1 star for 8million this summer.
United invested plenty of time scouting Aubameyang - Mike Ashley even made a personal scouting mission to France to run the rule over his services during his time at St Etienne.
However, the player opted for Dortmund who could offer him Champions League football.
But with United desperate for a striker and able to meet Dortmund's price, the arrival would take pressure off the Toon board this summer.
