Newcastle United are intensifying their pursuit of Lille fullback Mathieu Debuchy.

The Sun says the Magpies, who have already had a £4million bid rejected for Debuchy, are expected to make renewed contact with the player as Lille find his replacement.

Debuchy is a pal of Yohan Cabaye and has said he wants to join him at Toon.
