Newcastle United must move quickly for AZ Alkmaar striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson.
The Iceland international has been watched regularly by Toon chief scout Graham Carr this season and is seen as a potential replacement for Andy Carroll, who moved to Liverpool in January.
However, De Telegraaf says Sigthorsson has agreed personal terms with Ajax for next season.
AZ are yet to settle on a fee with Ajax for the player as they wait to hear from Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund.
