Newcastle United midfielder Cheik Tiote expects Liverpool striker Andy Carroll to be up for today's clash.
Tiote has seen at close hand how destructive the Gateshead-born frontman can be, and was diplomatic when asked about the prospect of a reunion.
He said: "Andy Carroll is a good friend for us and we will be happy to see him if he is playing.
"But the most important thing is that we stay together as a team, and we will see after the game. That's football."
Tiote arrived in England knowing all about the Premier League after following it on television at home, and admits he is looking forward to his first trip to one of the most famous stadia in club football.
He said: "It's a great stadium with a great atmosphere. The fans are crazy, like at Newcastle, and I love to play against teams like that."
