Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback has said that the club deserves more than they are currently getting right now.

The Magpies currently have seven first-team players injured and Colback rues that non-availability as the major cause for their recent run of poor form but suggests those who are fit need to give a bit more.

"This is a huge club which deserves more than it is getting at the moment," said Colback.

"It's a difficult situation we're in. We've not got a lot of players."

Speaking about the latest defeat to Liverpool, Colback said: "The minimum we could do was to be better than our last game. We had to show a reaction.

"The character is there in the team even if we didn't show it last week. If we play like we did in spells [at Liverpool] we can pick up the wins we need to get this season out of the way and look to progress next year."
