Williamson was plying his trade with Wycombe Wanderers just two years ago in the lower leagues of English football and admits he is loving his fascinating journey through the beautiful game.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "I have had a little taste of everything. I started off at Torquay, and then I was at Southampton when they were a Premier League club.
"I saw how things were run, and the talent, grit and hard work which are put in.
"I went back to Wycombe and started my own little journey.
"It has been thoroughly enjoyable - I would not change anything for the world.
"They say centre-halves mature in their positions later, and I am just enjoying my football at the minute and looking forward to every challenge."
