Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor was happy for Ayoze Perez after his goal in victory over Tottenham.
Taylor, who himself put in a solid performance in the 2-1 win at White Hart Lane, believes the young man has a bright future.
He said: "He is a goalscorer, put the ball in front of him and he has that ability.
"We thought Papiss Cisse was starting but he had an injury so Perez came into the game and looked after himself.
"Once we got to the stadium he found out he was playing - it was great for him.
"He is a different outlet to Cisse. He is the sort of talent who can step in and deliver.
"Look at what he did. He did a great job. I am delighted for him. He took his goal so well and stuck it away."
