Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has his sights set on making the line-up for their Premier League kickoff against Tottenham.

Taylor put in an impressive defensive display against Den Haag and helped keep a clean sheet against the Dutch outfit.

Taylor told the Evening Chronicle: "I feel good. The gaffer took me off after 64 minutes.

"I could probably have played more and will if asked against Cardiff next week."
