Championship Wigan have agreed a fee with Newcastle for defender James Tavernier, Sky Sports is reporting. Wigan have made highly-rated full-back Tavernier one of their top targets this summer and they are hoping to fend off interest from several clubs to land the player. The 22 year old, who has made 10 first-team appearances for Newcastle, is entering the final year of his contract at St James' Park and the club have decided to cash-in on him.
