Holland national team boss Danny Blind has claimed that Newcastle United right-back Daryl Janmaat is planning to leave the Premier League club if they get relegated at the end of the season.
Blind reveals that the 26-year-old was hoping to impress potential suitors with his performances for the Dutch national team during the international break.
However, he was forced to remain in England after he picked up a knee injury in the 1-1 Tyne-Wear derby on Sunday.
"Janmaat regretted terribly that he had to cancel [joining up with the squad]," Blind told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
"He wanted to be with the Oranje [as he was] keen to be in the spotlight for another club in case Newcastle United are actually relegated."
