Newcastle United defender Chancel Mbemba is in advanced talks to sign with Porto, confirms his agent.

The defender has been told he can find a new club this summer, and all that remains is for the two clubs to agree a fee to complete the deal - something agent Fabio Baglio is confident of.

He told Portuguese outlet Mais Futebol: "Negotiations are now happening between the two clubs.

"We were in Porto this week and the player has agreed a deal for four years.

"This week there will be a response from Newcastle to FC Porto's proposal.

"We are convinced that everything will be settled."
