Newcastle United are confident of closing a deal for FC Twente defender Douglas.
The Daily Mail says Newcastle are confident of signing defender Douglas, 24, from FC Twente despite Steve McClaren holding out for a bigger fee.
But talks over Douglas's Twente teammate Luuk de Jong have ground to a halt.
