Newcastle winger Sylvain Marveaux is facing a lengthy spell out of the game after he has an operation on a groin injury. The Frenchman suffered the problem in the 2-1 victory over Everton on 5th November and will have surgery this week.
Toon boss Alan Pardew confirmed: "He will have an operation this week, probably. That could be a while."
