Newcastle United have big concerns over Arsenal's pursuit of defender Sebastien Bassong.

The Daily Mail says his impressive performances at left back, and more significantly at centre half alongside Fabricio Coloccini, have grabbed the attention of Barclays Premier League scouts, and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in particular.

Bassong admits he would be interested in a move to the Emirates, although Wenger may have to fork out as much as £10 million to land a player he knows well as a graduate of the French Federation's Clairefontaine Academy.
