Newcastle United are ready to launch a bid to sign Manchester United youngster Jesse Lingard.

ESPN FC have reported that Magpies boss Steve McClaren is a big fan of the England youth player having pent last year with him at former club Derby County.

Impressed by his loan spell at Derby, McClaren sees Lingard as a perfect addition to his new look Newcastle side and may make a move for his services this week.

Lingard, 22, has been linked with a possible transfer to Bristol City.
