Newcastle United reserves coach Alan Thompson has urged Nile Ranger and Kazenga LuaLua to use Andy Carroll as inspiration.
Both youngsters are tipped for big things and Thompson says they can follow Carroll into Chris Hughton's first team.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "It has to be the aim for the likes of Kaz and Nile. That is why they play reserve-team football.
"For them to make the first team and become established is massive for them.
"They don't want to be stuck in the reserve team. They are doing really well."
