Newcastle coach Hughton prepared to select Guthrie for Hull trip

Newcastle United caretaker boss Chris Hughton is ready to select Danny Guthrie for their trip to Hull City.

Should Guthrie be fit to face Hull, he is certain for a rocky ride from City fans after his leg-breaking tackle on Craig Fagan.

The ex-Bolton and Liverpool midfield man suffered the boos against the Tigers in Newcastle's last visit to the KC but kept his nerve to help earn an FA Cup third-round replay.

Hughton told the Evening Chronicle: "That incident is very much behind Danny now.

"The lad, Fagan, is back playing and in contention now.

"You're always going to have incidents in which you realise you've wronged someone. You've just got to get on with it.

"I'm sure the first thing on Danny's mind is simply getting back playing again."
