Newcastle reserve-team coach Lee Clark was delighted to see Dutch youngster Frank Wiafe Danquah score his first goal in Monday night's 3-1 defeat of Wigan Athletic.
Danquah was snapped by Newcastle as a 15 year-old from Ajax and Clark told nufc.co.uk: "Frank has had some bad luck with injuries since joining us as a schoolboy.
"But he's showed great character to battle back and has been great for me so far this season.
"He's been playing in a more unfamiliar role of an out-and-out striker when really he prefers to play off a frontman.
"But he's been very good and got his reward with a goal tonight and long may it continue."
