Newcastle United reserves coach Peter Beardsley has told former Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson to make the most of his move to Liverpool.
Beardsley, who was signed by Dalglish from Newcastle in 1987 and made 175 appearances for the club, believes Liverpool have signed an exciting talent in the Wearsider, and says he can take plenty on board from his new manager.
"Kenny's a good, shrewd manager," Beardsley told the Liverpool Echo.
"And if Liverpool have got Jordan Henderson, they've obviously got an outstanding young player.
"And I would say to him: 'Listen to Kenny Dalglish'. I had four years there and he was sensational in every respect.
"His application to the job and his attitude to being manager of that football club is special.
"If he's not the greatest player Liverpool have ever had, he's certainly in the top three and because of that people should listen to him."
