Newcastle United reserves coach Peter Beardsley is delighted with the form of Nile Ranger.
Ranger has impressed in the opening weeks of the reserves comp.
Beardsley told the Evening Chronicle: "The thing that Nile's got is that he can always score goals.
"It was nice for him to score in a derby last week and he's playing well at the moment.
"He was outstanding, and I have not seen him play better.
"The way he leaps to head a ball is fantastic.
"I know there was a lot of talk of him going out on loan, but it was great for him to do what he done in front of the boss."
