Newcastle United are set to complete their first signing of the summer in the form of Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Magpies have been very quiet in the transfer market so far but things are expected to pick up within the next few weeks and the north east outfit could well be on the verge of completing their first signing under Steve McClaren by luring PSV Eindhoven captain Wijnaldum to St. James' Park.
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle recently tabled a bid in the region of around £15million for Wijnaldum and a deal could be close after the 24-year old was left out of PSV's pre-season squad.
Wijnaldum has arguably been one of the best midfielders in the Dutch Eredivisie over the past few seasons and his signing would be a major coup for the Magpies.
