Newcastle clinch Barron commitment

Newcastle United have completed the signing of Paul Barron as new goalkeeper coach.

The Evening Chronicle says Sam Allardyce has recruited Barron from Middlesbrough as his new goalkeeping coach.

Allardyce wanted to replace Gennoe with Fred Barber from his former club Bolton, but a change of manager at the Reebok Stadium has stopped that.

Barber worked with Gary Megson when he was manager at West Brom, and when the former United midfielder took over at Bolton he decided to stay.
