Torino starlet Raffaele Maiorano is in the sights of Newcastle United.

Toon face competition for Torino youth academy forward Maiorano, who has also been linked with West Ham United, West Brom and Cardiff City.

Juventus, Roma and Siena are also interested in the 18-year-old, but his agent admits a move to the Barclays Premier League is the preferred option.

Massimo Vrenna, the representative, said: "Maiorano is a diamond waiting for a big leap. We will try to take him to England, where many clubs have already shown they want him to play in the Premier League."
