Newcastle United are joining the interest for Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy.
Newcastle are looking to strengthen in midfield with Wigan's McCarthy, 22, understood to be a target, says the Daily Star Sunday.
McCarthy is also a £15 million target for Everton.
