Newcastle United chairman Chris Mort has dismissed reports that manager Kevin Keegan's job is in danger.

Mort - in charge of the day-to-day running of the club on behalf of the owner, Mike Ashley - responded to reports yesterday that Keegan has two games to save his job with a blunt response.

"These stories are absolute rubbish," he said.
