Newcastle United won't consider selling striker Michael Owen.
Toon chairman Chris Mort has ruled out allowing Owen to leave and has dismissed reports of a £6 million buyout clause.
"That sort of clause does not exist any longer," he said. "We want to see a fit Michael Owen scoring goals for Newcastle United for many years to come."
Toon boss Sam Allardyce maintained yesterday that his relationship with Owen is solid.
He said: "I've not had any friction with him," he said. "When we have something to discuss, we discuss it and just get on with things."
