Newcastle United chairman Chris Mort says Shola Ameobi will not be sold in January.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "Shola has been working hard, but has had niggling injuries.

"He has done very well when he has played in the reserves.

"I am sure Kevin (Keegan) will look to assess Shola and the others in the weeks to come."
