Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce has urged Steven Taylor not to get big-headed over his senior England call-up.

He said: "From Steven's point of view, it's a great honour at a young age to get called up for England.

"Initially, I thought he was getting called up for the Under-21s, but I got the call from Steve (McClaren), who has included him so he can get a feel for it.

"It will be a great experience for him, so long as it doesn't go to his head."
