Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew hasn't given up on landing Liverpool striker Andy Carroll.

West Ham United have expressed an interest in signing Carroll, while the 23-year-old has been linked with a return to St James' Park.

Speaking after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Chelsea, Pardew said: "That is above me that deal, it is a financial deal that will be done at board level if Liverpool agree.

"If I was saying on a playing level would I like him in the squad, of course I would he would add a nice dimension to us."
