Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew says West Bromwich Albion's Roy Hodgson deserves to be considered for the England job.
Hodgson and Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp are among the favourites for the post.
Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "Roy is as good a candidate as anybody for the England boss for me.
"I know Harry Redknapp is probably the media's favourite to get the job, but Roy would be a great choice.
"He has put together a strong side at West Brom and he has very good players.
"He will make it tough for us."
