Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew insists they're not in a false position after victory over QPR.

The win moved Newcastle up to sixth in the Prem on 36 points.

Pardew declared: "We are above Liverpool after 21 games and deserve to be there. With two of our players, Demba Ba and Cheick Tiote, at the African Nations Cup, the next series of games are very important.

"There is money available to me and I think we will take a player if it works financially. But I have a tight bunch and don't want to upset it."
