Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is confident new signing Loic Remy will be welcomed by fans.
Remy turned down Newcastle for QPR in January.
Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "I don't think it was about turning us down.
"Sometimes it is a business decision. That was taken.
"This time I think it is the right football decision for him to come to us. We are the right stage for him.
"We will whet the appetite for him with 50,000 Geordies here to welcome him."
