Newcastle boss Pardew tightlipped on January transfer plans

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is coy over his January transfer plans.

Having been stung by the Andy Carroll situation and his promises through the summer, he prefers to talk about the existing squad.

"I'm not going to go there (January transfer window), because it's unfair on me," he told the Sunday Sun. "What I will say is that the football club at the minute - as a team - goes out every week to try and win.

"And to try and win in a way that has some structure to it and a bit of flair about it too.

"We could be a very exciting team to watch. I don't think we have been yet but if I went to Villa I would be excited, if I went to Forest I would be excited by the guys in the backgorund and we now need to transfer that to the first team.

"And I think we've got enough in that squad to have a season where we excite our fans and they get to trust us."
