Newcastle boss Pardew tells Celtic to forget Forster

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has warned Celtic off goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Pardew has told Celtic to forget trying to net Forster for £2million in the summer.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon considered the bid to keep loan No 1 Forster beyond the end of the season.

Pardew told the Scottish Sun: "I certainly won't be accepting an offer of something like £2million from Celtic."

Pardew wants Forster to challenge Steve Harper and Tim Krul for the No 1 jersey at St James' Park.

He said: "The last time I spoke to Fraser I made it clear he'd be coming back for pre-season.

"I told him he will be given the chance to fight it out for a place in the first team.

"I don't want to bring in a new keeper because I expect the three we have to start pre-season."
