Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is delighted with the resurgence of Geordie defender Steven Taylor.
Taylor's return to the Toon first team in the last three league games has coincided with a dramatic upsurge in form - Pardew's side have racked up four straight wins in all competitions.
Pardew, hoping to extend that run at West Brom today, said: "You can't argue with Steven's record of late!
"He's a player that, when he's confident, can get in the England squad, which he did during my time here.
"The key for Steven is having a sustained run, and staying injury-free, which he is having at the moment. When he gets his confidence, he's an outstanding centre-half.''
