Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew admits he's scouting talent at the World Cup.
He was keen to recruit new signings as early as possible to lift the gloom which engulfed supporters after a disastrous second half to the campaign.
And Pardew is wary of prices shooting up if any of his targets flourish at the World Cup.
He said: "We got two in quickly which was good and now we need to get in a couple of strikers.
"A lot of clubs and agents are waiting to see how players fare at the World Cup and that will have an influence on prices.
"The World Cup is critical to a number of clubs including us."
