Newcastle boss Pardew reveals early Ben Arfa recall

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has called winger Hatem Ben Arfa back from treatment in France to reintegrate with the squad.

The France player, a £5m capture from Marseille last January, has been recovering at the French FA's academy at Clairefontaine since breaking his leg in October and Pardew wants to see him back on Tyneside before his return to match action in around six weeks.

Pardew said: "I need him over here. I want to get him in and around the group because we are going to need him in the March, April and May period.

"He feels good, progress reports are very good and we need him here, embedded into the group, because we are all in this together whether you are injured or not. I want to see a bit more of him out on that training ground."
