Newcastle United are waiting for PSG striker Mevlut Erdinc to make a final decision on his transfer.
Toon boss Alan Pardew is confident of landing a new striker in time for the opening clash with Arsenal - even if Erdinc turns up the chance to sign for the black-and-whites, says the Evening Chronicle.
Talks have been ongoing between United and Paris St Germain while the Magpies have been on tour in the US.
United will give time to Erdinc to make his decision but will not stop chasing other targets in the meantime.
