Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has put Adam Armstrong on notice for tonight's Capital One Cup tie with Tottenham.

Pardew hinted he could play a bigger part in the clash at Tottenham tonight.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "I thought he did well against Crystal Palace and Manchester City in terms of the role he had.

"He's a player that I have a fantastic expectation on and whether he gets a start we will have to wait and see."
