Newcastle boss Pardew pushing Ben Arfa to take game to new level

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew wants Hatem Ben Arfa to take his game to a new level.

Pardew knows he has to man manage Ben Arfa with the flair player often clashing with previous bosses like Laurent Blanc and Didier Deschamps.

Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "The only point I would make is that he can reach great heights.

"That's what we need from him on a consistent basis.

"That's something we're going to have to work towards to get out of him.

"I have to show faith in him, and I also have to make sure he does what's right for the team.

"That's all I want to say."
