Newcastle boss Pardew ponders move for Tottenham pair Crouch, Defoe

Newcastle United are chasing Tottenham pair Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe.

The Sunday Sun says the club have changed tack in the market from the start of the summer after many of their targets moved elsewhere - with British-based alternatives now coming into play.

Toon have also been linked with Reading striker Shane Long.
